A little about Didim / Altinkum.
The popular coastal towns of Didim/Altinkum lie on the beautiful Aegean coast, on the Northern shores of the Gulf of Gulluk. Once neighbouring towns, time and progression have blended the two but they remain referred to by both names which many find confusing! Easily accessible from both Izmir and Bodrum Milas Airports in around a 90-minute transfer, the area boasts a wealth of amenities and is a popular choice for both the holiday maker and Turkish property investor.
Situated between Bodrum and Kusadasi, Altinkum/Didim homes over 37,000 including many British and Europeans and is expanding rapidly. Although the area is heavily reliant on tourism as you find along much of the coast, it also stays true to its traditional incomes with many locals still farming cotton, wheat and citrus fruits from fields and orchards scattered throughout the area.
